A PhD student position immediately available at
City University of New York
This Ph.D. student position is funded by combination of my research grants with supports from Queens College and City University of New York with an excellent five-years package ($35,000/year) for the Doctoral Program in the Earth and Environmental Sciences at City University of New York. This Ph.D. study will start in late August 2012.
PhD Student position available immediately at Oregon State University in Terrestrial Ecosystem Modeling
One Ph.D. position immediately available at Washington State University (USA)
I have a PhD project (with funding) for someone to use stable isotope techniques (specifically, C13 and O18 and deuterium) to examine the ecophysiology of Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems.
The position is located at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. An undergraduate degree in science plua either an Honours degree or Master's degree are required for PhD study in Australia.
Interested people should send their CV and up to one page of text outlining project ideas to me asap.

PhD course on “Carbon dynamics and exchange in peatlands”
2012 August 25 – September 2
The 5th Annual Summer Course in Flux Measurements and Advanced Modeling will be held July 16-27, 2012 at the University of Colorado Mountain Research Station, near Boulder, Colorado, USA
If you wish to attend the course please submit an application by: March 30, 2012 (details below).
Organizers: Dave Moore (University of Arizona), Paul Stoy (Montana State University), and Russ Monson (University of Arizona)
The Climate Sciences Department of the Earth Sciences Division has an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to quantify and reduce uncertainties in the carbon cycle and other biogeochemical feedbacks in global models of the terrestrial ecosystem. The work will be part of the DOE-sponsored Climate Science for a Sustainable Energy Future (CSSEF) project. This project seeks to deliver Earth system models that are genuinely predictive at the regional level.
A PhD-course on "Carbon dynamics and exchange in peatlands" 2012 August 25 - September 2 to be held in Vindeln close to Umeå. The course is intended for all PhD-students with an interest in carbon biogeochemistry and exchange in peat forming ecosystems. See the announcement for more details.
Application to the course should be submitted no later than April 15th.
